Just wondering if anyone can tell me if there are differences in the EFI 302's. I'm looking to pick up a junkyard engine that can be rebuilt, and then swap into my 92 Bronco. I wasn't sure if I could just use any EFI 302 from 87-96 or whatever the years are. Any differences these years might have please let me know, no matter how small they might be. Thanks!!
I had one that worked but it didnt have the hole for knock senser but everything else seemed to work and be the same, when you go to get the junkyard moter if you can keep all the plugs for that moter on the moter that way if for some reason ford changed a plug or you break one on teardown you have a plug ,you just have to wire it with the plug on the moter and your in business good luck

The 5.0 (302) longblock itself should remain the same for the most part. The 5.8 had no knock sensor but the 5.0 did. Sensors and locations are slightly different on the 96's and some 95's because of the change in onboard diagnostics/computers but I don't think the differences affected the longblock.
Actually there are quite a few notable difference, usually pertaining to whether the truck shipped as speed desity or mass air, such as threaded holes in the lower intake manifold for sensors etc. Knock sensor, varied with computer software versions, and a few other minor differences. depends how complete of a motor you are looking for, did the vehicle you are trying to put this motor in originally have a efi system, etc.
