hi i have a 75 ford f-350 super cab, it has a 390, i plan on putting in a 4 speed i have every thing but the front drive line will it be the same from a standard cab truck or do i need one from a super cab, didn't know if one was longer than the other or not, i did this swap years ago on a standard cab truck before but not a super cab , i know the truck cab is longer, and if so what years of super cabs do i look for, thanks for any help
I think you'll need supercab front parts for proper length. I would assume the chassis is longer on supercab model compared to std cab. I'd say you need to hit up the '73-79 Forum and ask those guys.
it should be the same as the engine and tranny are located the same reguardless of the type of cab.( they didnt move the engine and tranny back because there was more cab) the rear drive shafts from the tranny and t-case back are longer
I didn't think Ford made a SC F350 in 75. In fact I didn't think they even made a 4X4 F350 of any kind in 75. Is this a conversion? Are you running a D60 front or a D44 out of an F250? Do you have a divorced or married trans case? If married then it will be the same as a regular cab F350 from a 79 (or F250 from 77.5 to 79). If its a divorced setup then you need to find a 73-77 highboy and compare transfer case mounting locations to see if they are the same.
