It was easier for me to get at it from underneath. I have a little bit of a lift though, and my mits are to big to try and fit past the obstructions from above.

i'll probably do the same thing... here comes another trip crawling through the mud...! oh well...!
I also have a lift on mine, when I get the new cps I am going to hook up the continuity tester and an ohm meter to it. This way I can record what it does and if I ever buy another new one I will know what to look for if its bad before I even put it on. Or has someone already done this. The part stores around here tell us that they do not give money back on electrical parts, so if the part is bad before from the maker then we get screwed.
mine was starting to feel the dying symptom 3 weeks ago. And for a while before that I was thinking about getting one of those ebay ones but never did. So 2 weeks ago I got one from ford for just under $120 cause I didn't want my truck to be found on road dead in the middle of nowhere. It took me a week to getting around to changing it but once I did the truck starts much better and doesn't die on me now. And I now have the old one for a spare that it will run on. I was lucky enough to be able to do it inside a heated garage after it was in there for an hour dripping. They are far easier to change on the f series as opposed to the e series.
i got mine in yesterday evening... not too bad to do... and when i started her up she roared right to life... definately an improvement in starting... idle seems a tic smoother also... and the performance while driving is spot on...
