New CPS in.

Well I tried out my new CPS today and my truck started up a little quicker then normal. I got the CPS off of E-Bay, and thought I better try it out now after reading the other post. It was 31 degrees out when I started it up, she fired right up and ran smooth. It's amazing how hard it is to feel small metal bolts when your hands are numb. Good thing I crawled under my truck, I also noticed that the lower radiator hose had a small leak at the end above the clamp. I don't like those stock clamps, changed it out, leak is gone.

Always good to have a spare. It's never any fun turning wrenches when it's way cold.

dont feel bad... i was a little confused too... it is always amazing to me how you can say, or write, one thing, and someone else gets a completely different meaning from it than what you intended...

copied from an earlier post.
I thought that I would change mine for a couple of reasons;
1- I now know that the "e-bay" one is a known good part
2- I now have my original (known good part) in my glovebox
3- I can now change one out in the dark with my eyes closed because of the few minutes spent in the freezing cold driveway, insted of the freezing cold, muddy, muddy, muddy, cougar infested, muddy, logging roads. lol

I guess we are from the same school Texas_Vet.

Make sure you life jacket floats

If you have a new spare CPS in your glove box put it on now!
Maybe wait until it's above 31 degrees.
I have tried 3 new cps and none worked!
First CPS make truck run very very rough.
I'm stuck because I bought it off ebay months ago.
Two new Autozone CPS did not even crank my engine.
PArts guy says i have other problems, even when i put old part back in and
crank up. yeah right! A little fussing but i got my money back.
Still running on the old CPS, with a dead life jacket in the glove box.
Atleast i know it's dead.

He's right 10 minutes tops once you have done it before.
Tip, remove wire FIRST it makes the screw very easy work with.

If my old CPS had died completely, i would be in a world of hurt chasing
other problems i really don't have.

I also ordered one off of ebay. I have an 01 psd f350. I looked under the hood and then crawled under the pickup and looked. what is the best way to get at it, from the top or crawl underneath. I think when I get mine from the guy off of ebay I am going to stick it in right away and make sure it works, that way I know I have a good spare. thanks for the input guys.
