I place a lot of fabric softener sheets, I use two full boxes, in the inside of my truck. In the glove box, behind and under the seat. I was told to do this by a camper dealer after mice got into my pop-up camper and destroyed the canvas. Do not put mouse poison cakes inside of the truck, they'll attract the mice into the truck, they're made to attract the mice to them so the mice eat them. If you use the cakes place them outside of the truck away from the truck to draw the mice away. The added bonus of using the softener sheets is your truck will smell nice all summer long.

If you use moth ***** (which is what I use), make sure they're the "old fashioned" kind. These use naphthalene as the active ingredient while the newer style moth ***** use something else. The "something else" works on moths I guess but doesn't work on mice. The naphthalene works on mice. Stu

Decon bait pans around the perimeter of the storage area, not in it. Check every couple days for feeding activity replace any that are empty, move any that have not been disturbed. Keep any food or water sources away from storage area: pet foods, water dishes, bird seed, etc.
Note to self: new product idea. slippery surfaced pans you place the tires in while in storage so they can't use them for access ladders. Kinda like squirrel proofing a bird feeder pole.

This may sound rather odd, but I actually keep a BB gun handy when I'm out in the garage. Seems like every time I'm out there I see one or 2 of the critters running around.. gotten myself a few of the little buggers over the years. I know its not near as effective as poison baits (I set out decon as well), but it gives me some cheap entertainment as well ask keeping my wing shooting skills up.

what axracer said, plus I add bounce fabric softener to the glove box seat, and everywhere else. I have a couple wild cats running around the area too that look like they've been eating well....better than me. Also keep any grass nearby closely mowed to deter them from hiding in the first place.
