Oil for NP435
Hello,
Going over my 1978 F250 before the winter.....what kind of oil is recommended for the NP435 manual trans? I've looked in all my shop manuals and done a search on the site and can't find a definite answer....

I live in central PA and I just changed my tranny / T-case oil before winter came. I used 80W-90 in both with good shifting. The Ford manuals actually recomend 50W. I used the heavier oil because my drivetrain has 190K on it. There is so much grease and oiul on the underside, that I don't know if the tranny has any leaks or not. So I used the heavier oil just in case it does.
