Alright boys here's one for you.
I have a 1974 ford ranger F-100 SB i'm looking for a suspension lift kit for it . 4in would be good. I can't find one so if you know of any please let me know. Also for some odd reason on my truck there are holes for emblems on the front panels on both sides for the "F-100" emblems but also on the upper part where on some pickups I've seen "F-100 Ranger" emblems do both emblems go on my truck? Thanks alot, Jess
P.S. also complete lower molding kits I can't seem to find either.
I'm assuming your truck is a 4x4. Lift kits for 2wds are hard to find, especially for the Ford Twin-I-Beam front end. But assuming its a 4x4, you should easily be able to locate a lift kit. Try SkyJacker, I'd almost guarntee they'll have one. Pick up any 4x4/offroad magazine at the store and look through it, they always have tons of companies advertising lifts in them. My 78 f250 is lifted about 5 inches. GOOD LUCK

about the emblems. you may have the wrong cab or something because you shouldn't have an emblem above the fender. check the vin #s on the cab and on the door. i've heard of it being on the frame, but i can't find it on any of mine. try asking around on that one.
Yeah, SKYJACKER SHOULD HAVE THEM. Go lto www.skyjacker.com Or go to www.4wheelparts.com this is another place that would have them. hope this helps you.
Yeah it is 4x4. I think it does have mix and match cab/body but that's okay because the guy I bought it from did a really good job matching them up.SO i guess i'll just use boddy fill to fill in the screw holes. About the lift kits. I've never done any suspension work aside from changing out shocks what extra parts beside the kit do i nedd and can i do it? Thanks alot,Jess
Installing a lift is pretty straight forward. All the lift manufacturers provide instructions with their kits or systems. Most kits come with everything you need to complete the job and systems include rear leaf springs. Try [link:ntwonline.com|National Tire & Wheel] , [link:www.4wheelparts.com|4Wheel Parts Wholesalers] , and [link:www.rockymountainsusp.com|Rocky Mountain Suspension Products] to start with.
I just bought a Skyjacker lift with rear springs & shocks,,,and the whole thing ran 850 including shipping from Rockymountainsusp.com . I like it alot...the ride smoothed out and the truck feels firm... I had it installed for $200 including alignment..I didnt want to wrestle with bolts for a week...The shop I took it to had problems with the bolts as expected...Since they have been in place for 20+ years it took some coaxing to get them out. They also ran into the expected unexpected problems... I needed new leaf hangers (old ones rusty) and some shims to get the rear axle lined up right again with the shocks, luckily they had these in their spare parts bin...
