turn signal problems.
when I turn on the right turn signal the left and right rear flash. So does the left rear marker light. rear running lights dont come on with the headlight switch. Everything in front works fine. brake lights ,4 ways ok. Any ideas?
Is this for your '87 F-350? I had a similar problem with my jeep, turned out to be a bad aftermarket trailer harness wiring splice connector. If you have one, unplug the splice connector and bypass it and see if it solves the problem.
Check your rear bulbs first. A shorted bulb, one where the filiment has broken and is laying on the other filiment, would cause that problem. I've seen shorted bulbs cause all kinds of weird problems. I had one cause the dash lights and radio display to light up everytime you stepped on the brake!
Make sure all of the bulbs are of the correct type and inserted properly in the sockets. It's possible to get them in wrong even though they're not supposed to go in, especially with the softer plastic sockets. Can cause some pretty strange symptoms.
checked all bulbs sockets grounds etc. all ok. Found a melted bundle of wires under drivers floorboard.fixed that and got a whole new nightmare. dash lights flashing with r turn. dim brake lights, no turn with ign. on. guess what found some more melted wires by the right rear tailight. fixed that and everything is fine. what a mess. I'm going to re-wire the whole back of the truck next week.
thanks for the input
