VIN and Axle Code

Hey Guys,

Been trying to decode a few trucks. I can't find a proper decode for the axle code "39"

The truck is an 88 F-250 XLT Supercab 4x4. Door-jam sticker says "39" under the axle title.

I can't find the proper decode for this. We're pretty sure the truck has 4.10s, but not sure of the rear end (It's a full floater) either a Dana 60 or a Sterling???

Also, I have a 90 F-250 4x4 and the axle code is B5. I've read that that means 4.10 w/Ltd Slip but what axle is it? (It's not a full floater) The truck is the lighter 6001-7000lb model.

39= 3.55 capacity 6250 pounds. thats from the ford service manaul

B5=4.10 limited slip

also 39 means no ls

I already knew that B5 meant 4.10s with Ltd Slip, but what model axle is it?

So 39 means no Ltd Slip, does it also mean 3.55 gears or what?

Any idea what model axle the code "39" designates??

PS I already checked the Decode articles and couldn't find the right model year etc.

Should be a Foed 10.25" asle either full float or semi float. Manual says full float axle is bolted to hub and runs on two bearings, while semi float axle is retained by c locks inside the axle housing with a single bearing at wheel end of axle.
