I want to change the stereo in my truck. I have a great Alpine that was in my '96. Where can I find a faceplate to cover that gaping hole that will be left when I take the factory stereo out?
Will the radio not fit in that gap? If you get a dash mounting kit it will sometimes come with a new panel. If not, you might call Alpine and see if they have suggestions, a lot of manufacturers actually keep them on hand.
you just need a dash mounting kit
they have a din size opeing to mount your head unit and
generaly a small pocket to store junk
you can find these at walmart-circuitcity-stereo shop etc..

Thanks for the replys guys, the stereo is definately a lot smaller than the cassette cd combo that came with the truck. I guess that hole may make a great place to put an equilizer or cb radio.
The best thing to do, would be to get the kit for the headunit which will give you a little pocket to store junk in, or you could custom make a mount that would incorporate a CB (that might be a little too big) or an EQ.
Now, I cannot get the dang OEM Stereo out. Has FORD changed the four hole design. I could get the OEM out of the '96 with my home made coat hanger U-Wires.
Nope it should still be the DIN tools, sometimes the home made DIN-removal tools don't work, that's why you should get the DIN tool from Walmart or somewhere.

Just a future note, if you order from Crutchfield they'll include the DIN removal tool along with wiring harnesses and also instructions for your specific application.
Picked up a set of DIN tools at Auto Zone. Got the OEM out. The trim cover and wire harness came together. A hour of soldering the connections and the Alpine is installed. What a difference. I have also changed the rear door speakers to 6x9 200 watt Kenwood's. Did not have to cut a thing. I installed the speakers on the outside of the panel instead of the inside. Worked perfect. Had to drill new holes. Did not bow the trim panel at all. Plenty of clearance. Now to do the front doors.
