Hey guys,
This question concerns not my '95 Bronco but my '99 Escort ZX2. It has the premium sound package with the 6-disk CD changer in the trunk. I was wondering what I would have to do to install subwoofers to the stock deck. I've only done this with aftermarket CD recievers. Just incase anyone is curious I have 2-10" Bazooka subs in a sealed box with a 300 watt Bazooka amp. It was one of those package deals, the whole set-up including Tsunami wiring costed me $300. I run 8-gauge wire and 12-gauge speaker wire. Used to be in my bronco but since I turned it into an off-roader with no top so I want to put them in my car. Any help would be great guys.
Hey I have sold a few of those package Bazooka deals. They sound pretty pretty good. You want to get yourself a PAC SNI-35. It's a speaker to RCA invertor. Just grab the signal off the rear speaker leads in the rear deck of your zx2. The SNI-35 will accept the high input from the amplified system.
thanks for the info. yeah my car does have the factory amp. they sound good I just want a little more bass even though I listen to metal music. The bazooka units sound great especially for what they cost. I suppose having bigger and better wiring then what I need helps too along with the 24k gold waterproof fuse. By the way where can I get the adapter that I need to switch my speakers to RCA's. Does this allow to still have full use of my rear speakers?
Any mobile audio retailer will have one. Just tell them you need something to convert speakers to rcas an d they'll know what you mean. I like the PAC models but there are equal ones.
Also fore some info to you. Make sure you keep moisture away from that amp undder your seat if its there. I used to workfor the Ford Radio Warantee Department and had to fix or replace those factory amps all the time. Usually after the dealers sprayed and cleaned the carpets.
Thanks for the help KC. I'll look into getting them hooked up. Also thanks for the information about the amps. When I hook up the subs will my rear speakers still work or does the PAC interrupt the signal going to the rear speakers?
