Possible torque converter problem or me just going crazy?
Ok guys, so you all should know I changed my tranny fluid last sunday for probably the first time in it's life time and now I may be looking at a problem... possibly. I reported that after the trans fluid change I experienced a situation where it didn't want to go into over drive that I later found that I was just low on tranny fluid. Anyways, today the tranny did it again but I dont think its actually an over drive problem, but rather maybe a torque converter problem. See I realized that at about 70mph with OD off it should be at 3k RPM but when I experience this problem the engine is at about 2500 RPM. Once it catches the RPM drops to just above 2k, albet 2100 RPM. So, is this a torque converter problem with it not locking or unlocking or something? Today was probably the coldest morning so far this winter at 14 degress out and I only let it warm up for about 3 min. Could this be a factor of me not letting it warm up long enough or do I actually have a real problem on my hands. BTW, I checked the fluid level when I got to work and it showed full on the dip stick. Guys please give me any ideas or thoughs cause I am not an expert with automatic transmissions. Should I start saving for possible future repairs?
Shane

Delayed torque convertor engagement on that vehicle in cold temps is a program built into the computer to try to help bring engine temps up faster in cold weather. Once the motor warms up to operating temp, does it seem to operate "normally" or still have delayed engagment?

That seems to be the case here. After it warms it runs fine so I am not going to worry about it.
I wander what other cool computer controlled stuff is on this thing that I dont know about.
