Can I Get The Warn Hubs For My Excursion. Its A 01 Limited V10 4x4. I Talked To The Dealer, And My Hubs Are Not Supposed To Turn At All. Nor Do They Have Any Writing On Them, And The Lettering Didn't Wear Off Either. I Only Have The Auto Feature. No "lock" Feature. Any Replies Would Be Great.... Again , My Factory Hubs Are -----not----- Supposed To Turn At All...

Is there a **** where the hub should be? Flat portion in the middle with what looks like a white stripe?

Might be a stupid question, but can I replace me "free/lock" hibs with "auto/lock" when and if they do go? I have the manual (stick on the floor) transfer, and normally just kkep my hubs lock in winter since all I do is travel in town. I wouldn't mind having the auto feature for those longer trips, when the highway is clear, but the secondaries are not plowed.

krewat, yeah, the hub looks like it should turn, no writing at all, not worn off either, but the dealer told me that i have auto hubs only. they said i dont have the ability to over ride the auto function and lock the hubs from outside the truck..

Anything can be done with enough money tossed at it. The other option you have is just lock your hubs in November & leave them locked till April.(or when you start your trip till you get back home again)
Running with them locked will cost you a little in fuel mileage and tire wear but probably not enough for you to notice. Then whenever you think you want or need 4x4, just pull the stick on the floor & you got it.

I'm not sure about the Ex, but that sounds like bull...

You should be able to put the Warns on it, it's the same front-end as the Superduty.

To drop in here, I bought my '01 Super Duty last month and after reading this thread I started playing with my auto lock hubs. It was below freezing for 3 days straight and my right hub would not lock manually. Then, my left hub would not unlock. When the weather warmed up they started working better but, other than watching someone drive you truck while you watch the front drivetrain, how do you know for sure if you hubs are locking and unlocking properly? I ordered a set of Warn premiums last night. I'm not going to take that chance in the middle of 12 inches of snow.

Down here it's 80 deg F and humid!!!!!

And dry!

Only time I engage 4x4 is when I want to lube the front and give the servo a little exercise....

Got my new Warn Premiums today. Wow! My only question is, these things are huge, bigger than the hole in the hubcap. How did you guys accommidate for this. Do I just cut a bigger hole?

Shouldn't be large if they are correct ones

Did you order the right hubs? All you need to do is pop off the hub covers ,take off the old hubs, install the warns. Other then blocking up the vac lines peice of cake ,no mods needed at least on my 2001 none were needed. Took me about 1/2 an hour for both sides and that was first time i ever did it. Something sounds strange my warns fit right in no problems a little smaller then the stockers as far as sticking out the hub covers.

These are 38826. Same as yours. I didn't order them by the number though. I asked my NAPA guy to get me a set of warn premiums to fit a 2001 F250 sd and these are what he ordered. Are these right? the box does say "premium 1 ton set" and my truck is only an F250. The hole in my hub cap is about 3 3/8" in dia. These hubs are about 4 1/8" dia.
