Different models
In looking for replacement parts for my 78 F150, I've come across parts books that reference F150 and F100. Is there a difference between a 78 F100 and F150? I always assumed the F150 replaced the F100. Also, what was the diff between a F150 and F150 Custom?

This is what I have been doing. Since I live 30 minutes from Canada
I have been ordering parts from a CANADIAN Ford dealer. Certain Ford parts are discontinued in the USA. But Canada still has a lot of stock. The dealer will not ship it to you, but if you live close enough you can get it your self. Recenlty I bought a tailgate,hood,front fenders,doors,and grill shell not all at once but 1 or 2 things at a time. You pay the same price as USA ,but with the exchange rate it comes out to 100s of dollars less. Lets say a hood is around $500. After your credit card converts it its about $300 or less.
1979 F350,4x4,NP435,5:13 gears,Detroit locker in rear with hardened shafts,ABR in the front,360 with 428 crank & rods,390 HP heads,Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch,MSD Ignition,39.5x18 Boggers,bucket seats out of a Lightning,& a Southern Body that is perfect.

An F100 is a Light 1/2 ton.
An F-150 is known as a heavy 1/2 ton
The F150 has a higher GVW than the 100
Parts are interchangable to a big extent.
Custom,Ranger,Explorer,lariat,XLT's are trim packages.
Interior,emblems,colours,decals,etc
