I'm in need of some advise (for a change )...... I'm wondering if I need a "cold front kit" for my 00' Stroker? It basically "blocks" some cold air flow from the engine by covering part of the grille. I know that it makes the diesels heat up faster. Many school buses and 18 wheelers have them who are in cool climates. Since it's getting cold here, and I use my truck as a daily driver I'm wondering if something like this is worth while? I know that engine damage can be created by shutting down while truck is still cold, however I shutdown usually when the engine is at normal temps. Does anybody else have something like this?
DC-9
Thank you guys so much for all the help you've given me in the last 2+ years!!!!
well, when driving, does the needle (yes i know, idiot gauge) rise up to normal operating temps? (halfway) if so, then i wouldnt worry about it. but if you rarely get over the cold mark, i would get one. OR, get one, and if you keep hearing the fan come on as a result of high heat, take it off. i personally dont like the look of the cold fronts.
