Had truck in for some cold starting problems, dealer re tuned it from VXCF4DC to VXCF9DC, my question is has anyone been running the older spartan tunes with this stock strategy. I have the tunes for the VXCF5DC and I was hopping these would work with the new strategy.

Unfortunately there are no free spartan tunes supporting anything past vxcf5. You will need to contact SCT (if you ask for their canned tunes specifically, they will email them to you...they will support the vxcf9 strat). Other than that you could always contact one of the tune writers and have them write you a tune supporting your new flash. I would not load a vxcf5 tune onto your pcm now....you would definately lose the features and benefits of this new flash, but you could also confuse the hell out of your pcm/tcm.
Yeah and as far as I know SCT doesnt have anything in the database that is based off the VXCF9 flash. I got the new VXCF9 flash but am forced to run VXCF7 tunes. I just got a new tune from eric last night and was dissapointed that it too was all based off the VXCF7.....Was hoping SCT had got up to speed on the newest flash but....
I was sure that Matt had tunes for the vcx9 on his website before. I have that strategy in my truck and have been running the aggressive street economy tune for over a year. I am unable to check now because the laptop that I had all the tunes on crashed.
So are you saying that there are no custom tunes for this new flash?
Matt Robinson (GearHead Automotive) and (I believe) Tony Wildman are both writing to the VXCF9 strat. Both highly regarded. You can get the vxcf9 canned tunes from SCT...you just have to call them direct...they have not placed anything on their website for download (or rev file)...but if you ask, they will send you the new files. Just have to ask. I have Matt's custom vxcf9 files so I don't have the SCT canned, but others have called and received them.
Are you happy with the tunes you have from Matt? which tunes are you running?
Was happy while running them...not for the time being that my participating delaer tech frowned at me about tunes...etc...but he's a great tech and since I'm still under warranty...I'll just wait to use them. I have been okay knowing what the tunes will do for me when needed. After the warranty is expired I'm deleting the EGR and will need his tunes....I have his SRL, Street, TowPig, and TransOnly. I have ran his SRL and nearly brole my friend's neck and back because I forgot to warn him I was about to hammer down and roll some coal....he and another guy were in the truck and nearly crapped themselves...while looking at each other and both said....this is a Diesel? His Street is the only other tune I've used so far and both were really nice. He is without a doubt the best I've ever dealt with when it comes to customer service...usually you will wait for days from a tune writer...with Matt...its more like minutes. Good luck.
Innovative needs to get on the ball asap! I want vxcf9 tunes :-( I was under the impression sct hadnt done anything with the vxcf9 yet. But that was awhile back I inquired.
I have the VXCF9 Strat and have a file Cheezit emailed me with all the canned tunes that work on it with the SF3. Also Eric at innovative just sent me an Xtreme Race, Xtreme Street, and Street tunes for that Strat on Sunday and they work GREAT especially for 165 for all three. If you need the canned tune file PM me with an email address and I'll send it to you.

Your 04 is a different strategy than the 05's and up and a different processer.

Have you actually checked the strategy after you loaded the ID tunes?? Out of curiosity.
I guess I didnt know that there were different versions of the vxc9 strategy for different years. What is different about it?
The main difference in the 04 down and the 05 up is the different PCM's. The 04's take 5-7 minutes to reflash. the 05's up take about a minute IIRC. totally different programming. FICM's are the same but PCM's are different.
