maybe IPC sensor?

i have a 97 f-350 with 71,000 miles and when i have the cruise set i notice a slight surge in power and about a 1mph differnce on speedometer (going up and down) and at idle there is about a 100 rpm surge,truck still has tons of power and i just changed oil and fuel filter about 2,000 miles ago and air filter about 5,000.i had seen another post with a slight miss and it was ipc sensor or do you think this could be a cps sensor

I wouldn't think it was the cam sensor giving a minor surge like that. ICP sensor or the IPR itself sounds very plausible.

mine would do it under acceleration it would stumble. try unplugging icp sensor and then drive it.

you could also have a vacuum leak. dont cruise controls work off of vacuum????????

Don't think so, not with an electrinic throttle.

Did it surge before the oil change?
The wrong engine oil can cause issues with the pressure to the fuel injectors.
