*****,
Initially I was going to work on compiling the huge list of web links and work on my wiring harness but then I got together with a few buddies and their families and we decided to take our thanksgiving festivities to the field. We are going camping. We are going to circle the trailers and have a feast. It should be a kick in the pants.
For the remainder of the weekend I will be loading a trailer with a cab and chassis and various other parts that have found a new home to a fellow FTE'er in Texas (looking forward to our meeting Carl).
I wish you all a happy Thanksgiving! May you and yours enjoy the holiday.
Bobby
I'll be figuring out how to fix the blend door on my daughter's 97 Ranger. Unfortunately, it chose not to break in the same manor as 99.99999% of the others do.
Today I pick up the 351C with the FMX.
Once the Ranger is done, the F1 frame goes back up on jack stands and I begin frame corrosion repairs. I will actually be starting the build instead of doing a tear down.
I'll be working on a gameplan for doing my TransAm front clip swap. I have a couple ideas of how I want to do it but I'm trying to figure out the best way to make the graft.
What you going to be working on during this holiday week?
My goals are to have the gas and stick welding sections in final draft form by Sunday, and to have my donor engine out of the truck.
What are yours?
I have to clean the bugs off my windshield, polish my bumper, top off the gas tank and take it for a drive. Man, 10 years of busting my knuckles....what a payoff!

Hey Texan, I just helped a guy do the blend door fix on an F-150. What we ended up doing was cutting a hole in the vent to acces it, then fiberglassing the hole shut. Didn't look pretty but who cares, nobody can see it anyway. Cost about a case of beer, instead of the $1500 that ford wanted to do it. I think the actuator was $20.
I spent most of last Sunday compiling a To Do List of just the body stuff left on my 56. If I'm lucky, I'll get the first couple of items checked off this weekend.
I get 11 days off at Christmas. That's when the real fun starts. It's gonna be a busy winter...
Ahh, I figured I'd rub it in Hey, all I have to say is I enjoy reading all the threads on what work everyone is doing on their rigs. It's all too familiar. I just wish I had this site when I was really into the meat of my project all those years. I have got to find me another project though...restorations are fun

You want to come by and get some of my old parts?
I may try to drop my transmission and find out what's wrong with it. I may run the wires for my fan thermostat and probably just piddle. I will get atleast two big Thanksgiving meals though.
My GenII a/c unit is here and the polished stainless steering column should be here today, my w/s wiper motor should be today or tomorrow so I'll be spending my ''leisure'' time in and around the dash area. Also, my center console design has been finalized, the fabbin' has been started (pics to come) and will be finished after the a/c install is complete.
I'm gonna try to finish welding my extended cab. It's all tacked together and I've got about 1/2 of it welded solid. May also try to build some new motor mounts if time and the honey-do list permits.
I'm finishing up the engine tear down and cleaning. Hope to have the heads and block off to the machine shop shortly.
Taking a short break from welding and grinding. (Very short) I belive the funding will force me back to it as I already have what I need to continue doing that.
Hope ya all Have a very pleasent Thanksgiving
Mike
I am going to take off the rear springs and fix the rear/front/left spring mount. My father-in-law noticed that it was about to break off, what a save! I can just imagine the entire rear-end flushing out behind the truck as I was cruzing.
Any thoughts on removing those bad boys? I have my grinder and cutoff wheel ready, looks like that’s my only option.
Other than that, whishing I had money to put into her.

About the mount, I believe it is just riveted in there. I would just use an angle grinder and grind the head off, then use a punch and hammer the rest out. That's what I did.
