i don't know much about radios and sound quality, but my speaker, i believe is stuck to the top of my radio. It works just fine, in my opinion. My radio is just one of the old am/fm stereos, though, and not a modern one.
thanks, i relocated my stereo in the dash and the sound from the speaker is scratchy now. the only thing different is the radio is about a 1/4 in. from the speaker. mine also is an old am/fm model.
not sure, but maybe your signal is being messed up from the antennae. Speakers like to be in an area where the air cant get to the front and back of it at the same time. No bass that way. i had bad reception too, even with a new radio, so I replaced the antenna, found my old one had water in the bottom of it and was corroded.
thanks for the help. just came in from the garage........solved the problem. my stereo has wiring for front and rear speakers.........of which i'd been using only the front. when i moved the speakers to the rear wires it's fine. maybe something wrong in unit.
I know this is a dumb question, did you turn the balance **** to see if it was all the way one way or another? but if you're running just one set of speakers, it doesnt matter.
