Yes, you can keep the stock stereo. It's a great one. I would take somewhere to get the amp installed. There's alot of plastic in there, and they should know what to do. But, that's me. If you add a couple of subs under the rear seat, you'd be doing yourself a favor.
i agree with the addition of the subs... i have my bass turned down about 50% and it still sounds horrible at 75% radio volume
You know, it used to be doing the radio and the rest of the system was done on a new vehicle within the 1st week of my owning it. The new Sony system that's on my 2010 is, in my opinion, near near as good if not better then the a/m radios that are out there on the market. I couldn't believe how good the unit is.
OP: I'm one of those too that things sometimes it's better to have someone else do all the grunt work. There are some things I like to do myself, but electrical work is not one of them.
