been a long time since i seen a motor that clean!!! LOL i get lazy and dont even paint them anymore... 4 feet of mud usually hides any nice paint anyways...LMAO i did one for a buddy a couple years ago and didnt get any pictures... he smooothed all the casting flash from the block and had that baby completely smooth, then put about 5 coats of paint on it, looked like glass!! said he figured the smoother it was, the less mud that would stick to it and help keep the weight down and the engine cooler as well... stuffed it in his 4x4 and its never looked as nice since... LOL

Well that's a Cammer all right and your bud got one hell of a deal!!! Geeze the best deal I ever found on a cammer was for $800 back in the 80's. I thought it was way to much money at the time. Well good for your bud and tell him congrats from me. He scored the ultimate FE in my eyes. Kevin Jackson also sells some cammer parts. I'll forward his website after I find it for ya.

I guess his grandpas friend wrecked his car about 20yrs back and the only thing that he could salvage was the rear end, engine, tranny, and some of the interior. The only bad thing is the right cylinder head got damaged from the wreck. I dont think this engine will be running anytime soon do to that. I was on here browsing the site on the 427 and I seen someone posted an ad from ebay for a pair of cylinder heads going for 10k. Also is it even possible to get heads for these or even someone that makes them.

You can find heads pretty easily if you know where to look and who to contact. There are some aftermarket Dove aluminum heads that have been cast through the years. Depending on how bad the head really is it could be fixed possibly. But I'd wait and see what heads it has and go from there. Those cammer heads that sold for $10k were NOS in the box items. Used heads seem to be coming down a bit in price. Few weeks ago a set sold for $6100 on ebay. There is a set for sale at www.fordfe.com in the classifieds for $5000 or around that. The guy selling them might have a single for sale. He's into cammers big time!!!!

You might be able to have those heads welded back up, depending on how bad the damage really is. With the price these heads are going for, it'd probably be worth it at any price.

Ain't nobodody found no cammer 427 in no field no way no how, not for $250. I won't believe it until I see multiple photos including photo IDs and a recent newspaper included.

Now, if my skepticism proves incorrect, my offer for $5000 still stands :-)

I didnt post on here for people to bash me for my buddy getting a 427. I came on here to find out where to get parts. Like I said before I will post pics when he gets it, hopefully this week. Anyone that would like to help and see the engine get reborn please post back with some sites or #s on where to get parts. I have informed him of this site and he said he is going to join and start an album so everyone can see his project.

I apologize for my skepticism. It is probably just misplaced jealousy :-)

As for parts:

DSC, FPA these are FE guys that have some stuff and probably know where to get stuff..

Unfiortunately, your best bet to actually find stuff that people are willing to sell: eBay, it will not be cheap.

no one's bashing, just skeptical. those are very rare motors and that kind of a deal is unfathomable to comprehend. if thats the way it is, thats awesome- it's just not an everyday occurance...
