I recently did ball joints up front and now there is diff fluid leaking out of the axle tube on the drivers side. Does this mean that the inner axle seal is busted? How do I fix it if it is in fact the inner axle seal? Is this an easy fix? Leaking fluid means no 4x4 and snow is just around the corner. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to tackle the project just after Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance
You have to pull the carrier to replace the inner seals, what happens is the when you replaced your ball joints somehow you damaged the seals with the splined end of the
axle when putting it back in to the tube.If you want to do this you had better get a manual. because the ring gear and carrier have to come out ,then the seals or installed from the inside.

Well the shop manuals show a special tool to put them in with, but guys have made their own tools.you also have to pull the axles again to get the carrier out
