I just got a Reading service body on my 2005 F250. It provides a lot of space that I need. Only problem is that the installer did a poor job of installing the wiring (OK I guess, just not up to my standards). Anyway, I have seen a wiring harness that comes on trucks with bed delete that provides temporary wiring to the tail lights until a bed is installed. Does anyone have one of these harneses (I think a 2005 / 2006 F250 / F350 will work) they would be willing to sell me? If this is not the correct place to post this request, please let me know. Thanks, John
most trucks sold without beds do not have tail lights so finding that harness would be hard. maybe rewire it yourself. was it a total hack job?
Wrong. Every cab/chassis that Ford sells comes with a set of "temporary" taillights... it would be absolutely illegal and definitely not smart for Ford to put a truck on the road with no taillights.
When I had my Knapheide Knap Kap topper installed, the facility had several 55gal. drums full of those light assemblies.
John - you might try calling some of the service body installation facilities in your area to see if they have any kicking around spare. The lights would be no issue to find... tracking a harness down is going to be a bit more tricky.
