Yeah, I'll say it's getting hard to find them! A while back I had to replace my '64s radiator. I have a 223 w/ 3 on-the-tree. The closest thing I could find was one off of a '73. the top connection was on the opposite side as my old radiator, but I didn't think it was big deal, just take my old top radiator hose down to the local parts house and tell them I needed a mirror image of my old one, and they would be able to get me one close to what I needed. I told my plight to the 18 yr old behind the counter, and after I was done telling him what I needed, he asked me for the year, make, model, and engine size of my truck. I told him that he would not be able to get what I wanted through his computer, but nonetheless, I gave him the info. He put his finger up to the monitor and mumbled a number he read from off of the screen. He disappeared and came back with an exact replica of the ONE THAT I HELD IN MY HAND THAT I TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT! Now that I had his attention, I RETOLD the story and he said he could not help me, except to take me to the back and let me look myself and find one that I could use!! Took me about 5-7 minutes and I was outta there! What I have found is that if they can't bring it up on their screen, they don't have a clue....(sigh)...
Exactly, if they can't find it in the computer it doesn't exist. No matter how many times you tell them that it does. Even if you have the part in your hands, and they are looking at it themselves. If it isn't in their little computer it doesn't exist. These are the people we are relying on for parts?
Maybe we should go into the parts business! At least we know certain parts exist, it's just finding them that's the hard part.

A friend of mine wants me to put new speakers in his doors, well, I've never took door pannels off his truck to know how, and he doesnt either, he has an 88 f-150 reg cab xlt lariat. He doesnt have a manual for it and we cant turn one up. Can anyone help so we dont break them!??
First off, there are two screws in each door panel. One is up near the front of the door, right where the door panel and dash meet, the second is in the armrest. If you look straight in on the armrest (from the top) you will see the second screw. These two screws hold most of it on. The only other thing that holds the door panels on are clips, behind the panel. It can be taken off carefully without a special tool, but if you haven't tried before, I would go get the tool. Most parts stores should have the tool. Once you get the clips out, lift the panel straight up and over the door lock ****, then it will be mostly free. Then turn the door panel to where you can lift it over the door handle. Now the panel should be off. You will need some Torx bits, to get the speakers out though. I'm not sure on the size, so if you pick up the door panel trim tool, grab some torx bits as well. (that's if you don't have them already.)
