I have a 99' F-150... I'm new to this forums just registered today... I just bought the truck it has about 190,000 miles on it and runs great and has no electrical problems. The tranny slips a little bit but im guessing that is from the mileage. It has a 5.4 with an auto tranny. I just installed an aftermarket strereo a pioneer headunit with two mtx 12's. sounds awesome.
I have a problem with the shift needle on the dash. It is way off. When i'm in park, it says reverse and when im in drive it says im in second. does anyone else have this problem? is there a fix and if so what can i do? Any help is greatly appreciated.

If I remember right, it's a pretty simple fix. As long as it operates okay, it's not an immediate thing, but I know somebody will be able to help you with this.
I have messed with the one on my truck. if you look under the dash right under the steering column there should be a small cable. one end of the black plastic covering ends and mounts to the column and you can see the exposed wire as it goes up and towards passenger side. At that mount there is a small black wheel with teeth like a gear. By rotating the gear it adjusts the length of the cable, and after a few tries moving the gear selector you should get it right.
Hope this helps, I could email a picture if my description is too vague.
