center console wanted

center console wanted
i have an 01 X limited 4x4. right now it has the center seat that flips up. i dont need that many seats. does anyone have a TAN center console from a limited that is in great shape that wants to trade for the seat. i also checked under the seat and it has the rear audio controls and the DO work. i got a build sheet from my dealer and it is in fact supposed to have the seat, not the console. but the rear audio controls throw me off. the wiring harness is definately factory and it works. hmmmm what to do.

was it a complete unit with the radio controls an all? how much can i expect to lay out for one. i was thinking of doing a trade or something because mine still looks brand new..

I paid 65.00 for mine with the faux wood that matched my 05 f350. I did not want the radio controls but I have seen them on ebay. I have seen the consoles go from 50 to 125 depending on the color and with or w/o controls.
I had the holes in the floor for the mounting that were covered with some black tape. I just had to cut out 2 sections of the carpet about 2"x6" so the mounting pads on the console would set on the floor. Then I inserted 4 riv-nuts in the factory holes that would allow me to bolt down the console. Some people just drill 4 new holes and secure them with sheet metal screws.

got one
I own a 2001 4x4 with the center console but I want that middle seat like you have. The only thing I can't figure out is why only the front speakers work when I take that center console out? Any ideas? kandl @ cableone.net (take out the spaces)

65-gto, the only thing that i can think of is that you have the rear audio controlls and when the unit is disconnected, the fronts are the only ones that work. i have the rear audio control unit that came factory, and it is functional. remove the console, keep the unit plugged in and see what happens. you do have the rear control unit??? as far as trading, i already got a console asembly and sold my seat assembly. sorry....
