Wiring power seats into my 2008 F350 XLT
Happy new year.
I have a 2008 F350 XLT.
I was able to get a nice christmas present in the form of a set of leather power seats with the centre console and rear seats for my truck.
I have the pig tail for the seats from the truck the seats came from.
My vehicle does not have a harness for the power seats or for the 12 volt power receptacles in the center console.
A local shop that specializes in electrical work can run a relay and fuses for me but to save some coin I would like to do as much of it myself as possible.
Has anyone done this type of mod? If so which wires on the seats correspond to the different functions? What type of fuse should I use for the seats and for the center console (7.5 amp, 10 amp 30 amp)?

its probly not taboo, maybe rare, but cant be that rare, but your going to have to wait for just the right person to come areound, that has all the manuals... just be patient... if you got a multimeter, you could do the legwork, do a rite up on it, and then become "the guy" with the answers for future users

Here is a bit more information.
My seats were the split bench 40/20/40 setup and manual adjustment. The only wire to the seats was from the drivers seat belt. On careful inspection and feeling around there are no pre-wired connectors associated with the wiring harness in my truck for power seats.
The FX4 seats have the factory connectors on them and I was able to salvage the pig tails from the wiring harness that the seat connectors attach to.
Looking at the passenger pig tail there are 5 pins corresponding to 5 wires coming out of the pigtail. The wires are of 2 sizes. The larger size wires are in 3 colours: Black; Grey with red;Yellow with red. The 2 smaller wires are grey with yellow; green.
The drivers side has 7 wires 4 large and 3 small diameter. The larger wires are:Black;Grey with red;Yellow with red; Black with white. The smaller wires are:Green;Green with black;white with blue.
I will have a local shop create a relay for me with a 20 amp fuse for each seat.
My question is to which wires would power the seat motors and which wire would be the ground. Theoretically there should only be 2 wires to worry about. The seats may be heated and I have no interest in wiring these up, I just need the motors to work.
I was unalbe to determine if there was a memory function or if there were seat heater controls as the dash was badly damaged from vandalism and from salvage attempts for other parts.

On review of the underside of the seat there are a mess of wires. That being said there is a relay on the front of both the driver and passenger sides. 2 large wires go in as well as 2 small wires.
All the wiring is covered by protective split loomb and then wrapped in electrical tape. There are a few splits that occur under the wraps but no major junction boxes.
It appears there is a heater function associated with the seats with 2 sets of wires split off. One goes to the bottom of the seat and one to the back of the seat.
The power functions only control seat front up and down, seat back up and down, and seat front and back. No power lumbar or reclining. Those are manual.
Worst case scenario I could hack everything apart and just connect things manually to a new relay, but hey if there is one ready to go then some more digging may be worth my while.
