OK, I casn see where I got sidetracked. I'm used to evacuating to 2milibar, and that would probablly suck fluid. You're dropping atmospheric pressure, but not enough to move fluid.

I remember now where you recover the methanol from - the glycerol. In a properly transestified batch of biodiesel, there is no methanol left, it combined with the FFA to form glycerol. by heating or evacuating the methanol, you can recover som of the methanol for reuse.

Just jumped into this old posting. Fabman, I am interested in the vacuum recovery of methanol and vacuum drying of the biodiesel. Do you have any updated info I could get? Am just getting started and am enjoying your posts and experience.
