55 mph on my truck in 3rd is about 5,000 rpm, I wouldn't go lower then 4th if i'm going faster then 55.

yeah thats sounds about right with me to just to bad they don't make a gear and a half. haha i should put a tractor trailor tranny to my motor. haha it would weigh as much as the engine but it woul dgive dubble clutch and 10 lovely gears. with that many i woul d be kicking when it comes to MPG

Bump.

Took the drive today, exactly 100 miles there and back 96.7 when I left my house, 196.7 when I parked at home. ANYWAYS.

Got the chance to pass someone today on the way home, 65MPH road, they were doing around 55MPH, so I kicked it down from OD to 4th, no real change, so I figured why not and popped it up into 3rd, into the opposite lane, and off I go.

Car comes around the bend towards us, I gun it still in third, buried needle against dash in 3rd, what's that 95ish? As I got in front of the lead car I went down into 4th, then OD and slowed down.

Didn't think it would go that fast in 3rd. 4.0L 5 speed with 3.08 rear. GF will back me up on it, she was smilin' the whole time, gotta love that speed factor.

sometimes its got to try a 'red line run' if the roads open for me ill just hammer it. take every gear to 5500, you really see how the engine respond and powerbands, like for instance 1st goes 80kph, 2nd goes 120kph 3rd goes 140kph, and 4th i can get to 165kph but only ay 4500. dont do it all the time though haha. and if you downshift going to fast your rear end might lock up abit and thats not fun
