Hi. Have an 05 Explorer Eddie Bauer AWD 4.0L SOHC, 5r55E trans. At city or highway speeds, when I put the throttle down to pass someone, the trans takes 2-3 seconds to downshift. It's a giant flat spot in the power. Almost got me into trouble a couple of times. Anybody have any ideas? Computer?
100,000 km on the odo. I am going to change the fluid soon. I don't believe in "sealed for life" transmissions, and grease and oil is cheaper than parts.
Wish they would have put a dipstick on the pan, the fill process is a royal pain, and I don't want to take it to the stealership to have it done when I can do it myself.
I have the same complaint, but no answer. My 1998 Explorer had power on command while the 2007 has to "think" about it. I am not a fan of "drive by wire", or sealed transmissions either.
