I noticed that while browsing and got a kick out of it.
Now for the real business, I saw a Xcursion today that was the exact same color as my truck. The X had painted bumpers, grill and door handles. How well would my chrome bumpers/grill hold paint if I had them painted? Where's a good source to find the painted door handles.
My truck is the gold color....

for the handles i've heard of people using X handles on their truck to get that look ..........maybe a junk yard?
i bet if you sandblast those bumpers all that cheap factory chrome will come off and would hold paint well ......just my opinion

As far as the bumpers go,You would have to at least scuff the chrome up, I'v tried it before. The paint looks real good at first but flakes off after a few months, especially in the front. Not sure about the handles.

Sprint, I understand your desire to paint....
My bumper started looking pitted in apperance only, not actually a pit or divot. Also looks like stains dripping on it and "scuffy". I despise this cheap chrome.
Perhaps there is an economical way to rechrome it. I'm not ready for a new fancy chrome bumper yet, as I don't know which one I want.
The chrome is just a thin plating, like heavy lacquer, it will actually peel off if you get it started. It ain't easy to do it that way though. I would recommend sand or glass bead blasting if you REALLY want to go that route. Don't just paint over it, the paint will peel, same thing goes for the grill, I already tried that....

OK this is my 100th post (I think). Does that make me a "senior" yet?? If so a round for the house on me of everyone's favorite adult beverage. Except maybe you strokin_it7.3. No license???
