ook i got a straight 6 here is the block casting number C5AE-6015-F i heard it is a 300 straight 6 but want to confirm. was also wondering what bellhousing pattern this block is compatable with, i would really like to know if i can bolt a 360 inplace of this engine to the tranny that is hooked up to this straight 6, any help would be appreciated
Ray - You should be able to reuse the tranny with whatever motor you decide to go with. One thing though.... If you are mounting this up in your 65 4x4, I believe you will need to find a front timing cover and bellhousing that will allow you to mount the motor correctly, I don't think they use the standard side engine and tranny crossmember mounts. If memory serves right (now that's a stretch) you will need a front timing cover that will have the motor mount attached, as well as a bellhousing with mounting ears. Unless of course you have a swap kit. Let me know if I'm wrong on my analysis (for future reference).
