2005 Ranger Questions
Couple of Questions if anybody can help. How do you get the door panel off of an 05 ranger, and how do you pull out the headunit? Getting some new toys for my B-day on thursday and would like to know how to get em in so i can play with them...

There's a link on the door panel removal in the tech info thread at the top of this forum, should be similar to yours.
The head unit has the two holes on each side, you push a little tool, or a bent coat hanger in them and it releases the unit.

You dont even need to buy the tools for the radio. Just remove the 2 screws below the radio but above the a/c control and the whole bezel will pop out stereo and all. You'll have to unplug the wires for the power points and fog lights (if equiped) and unplug the stereo and it's out. You can just push in the metal retainer clips on the side of the stereo by hand and remove it that way. You'll have to remove the bezel anyways to get the aftermarket stereo to fit right with the mounting kit. I have my sony attached to the compartment under the stereo that you put in with the metal bracket that comes with the stereo to support the back end. I cut it down and bent it just right so that the stereo doesn't just pop out or bounce around when i hit a bump.
