Bronco help

hey, i have a 96 bronco today i was in 4wd and i pushed the button to take off 4wd then later backed up like 20 feet to disange the hubs but still i get a whining sound when i drive in 2WD that seems to be coming from the front hubs

what is the sound and what should i do to make the sound stop??

those crappy auto hubs. you can try and pull'em apart and clean'em but they prolly dont have long till they are trash. do NOT pack them with grease when re-installing, a light coat is plenty. just replace them with manuals and be done with it for good.

thanks... how much do they run for/ is there ne thing else i can do to fix em?

prolly looking at somewhere around $100, just depends on where you go

you're best bet is to just replace them

like said, the auto hubs tend to stick and whatnot, just replace them, cause when you need 4wd the most, it wont be there.

Before you go and start throwing new hubs on the truck, make sure the transfer case motor is turning it back to 2wd. Just drive the truck in a tight circle and see if the 4x4 is still on, if it is, time for a new t-case motor. Theyre cheap, only about $25 at a junkyard.
