It wasnt anything in the valve body. Truck shifts into 2nd great but will not go past that. I noticed right away when it shifts into 2nd the RPMs are still higher than before- around 1800.
The overdrive light was blinking so I know I'll have to get the code read.
Just want some more input before I have to take it to the shop....
I took it to the shop. Oh well, I know it is the stock tranny and it did feel like it was getting weak. I guess the tighter springs were enough to break it. I am one sad man...
Guys hooked the scanner and it did not dump a code. They went through testing the VSS and Solenoids, and everything checked out. They are going to check into it some more and let me know. I'll keep you guys informed.
I stopped by to check on my baby today, and they showed my two broken clutch plates. They also told me there were some stuck/broken vlaves. This repair is gonna cost me around 1k. Couldnt have some at a worst time...
$837.59 total cost of rebuild and new tc.
They put the sonnax kit in and with the other 2 springs they put in. Man it shifts better then my father in laws brand new truck. And that vibration that I thought was the ujoints again is GONE. It runs GREAT. thanks to all for putting up with me while I got through this.
nope. I have only had it for 6 months and i drive like a grandpa. Always keep it under 2k rpm even when accelerating. But since I first got it the tranny felt a little funny and I was finally convinced to put in the sonnax kit to get rid of the problem. It did for 2 days, and then all hell broke loose. I think the tranny was on its way out and the tighter springs were just enough to finish the job.
