bayou man ,My sympathy goes out to you. When I first brought my truck in to check for rear main seal leak I told the service writer that he needed to understand under no circumstance were they to flash MY truck.I even made him write it on the workorder ticket.Bottom line they had my truck for 2 full days to identify an oil leak and you no they reflashed my truck.I was not happy to say the least. That wasnt the worst part though.Power dropped off from dead stop and fuel consumption went from 16/21 to 13/16.In addition truck was much louder and exhaust smelled stronger then it used to.They did this to my truck when it had about 5000.0 miles on the ticker. At which time was told rear main seal needed to be replaced. This dealership was known for having great diesl cert. mech on hand. When I got into my truck to leave this dealer their was (I think) wheel bearing grease on the driver seat as well as the steering wheel.I got out to look closer and opened up the hood OMG it looked like .............well just greasy finger prints all over.Keep in mind i told them not to change the seal as I will see if it goes away on its own. They didnt change the seal but from the mess they left it was like they pulled the motor.I have NO CONFIDENCE IN THESE PEOPLE and moved onto another dealer who insidently siad that the seal is fine and recommends leaving it unless it get worst.Good luck
I have a 2005 F 250 CC PSD 15,000 miles no towing yet.. ....I just got my truck back this past Friday. Dealership said the turbo went out and they had to replace it. Check engine light had gone on..other than that before the truck seems to be running ok. I did notice the turbo takes a bit longer to spool up. Don't know if the "voluntary emmission recall" might be the cause.
