Hi everyone I have a 89 superduty with a 460. It started making a knocking noise the other day. The noise seems to be front passenger side front of motor.Oil pressure at start up is 80 psi @ idle when warm drops to 30 psi @ idle but goes up to 70 psi when i raise rpms. Also noise seems to go away or lesson under load Does this sound like a bad bearing All help will be appreciated Thanks
Is it an automatic? If so, I would check the converter bolts. You could also make sure that the noise is not coming from the crank pulley or any of the accessories. Try running the motor briefly without the accessory belt.
Good Luck!
