Arrow Longevity of 6637 filter

I realize driving conditions vary but for pretty much normal usage has anyone determined the approximate lifespan of the Napa 6637? Mine has 9K on it and is looking pretty rough and not performing as well.

I replace mine every 3-4 months. I drive in conditions that warrant it. I also clean out the old ones with compressed air and use them in between filter changes if I don't have time. The first time I cleaned one, you would have to cut it open to tell the difference between it and a new one. So I did. Cutting the filter in half revealed the compacted dirt in the media. It was fairly sporatic so I do not see any reason why I couldn't use an old-clean 6637 if I had to.

Same here, about 9k on mine and looks kind of rough. Gonna change it with next oil change.

Didnt someone once say they were good for 50k. I never believed it anyway...

I drilled a hole in the "other" end of mine and stuck the grommet and FilterMinder in it. I'll change it when the 'Minder says to. That's when it's restricted enough to change.

If you change it on looks alone, it'll almost always be prematurely.

Just doin' it's job........

I agree with that SpringerPop, but mine no longer does that cool WOOSH that it did when the filter was new. Then again, better safe than sorry. I look at it this way, the filter cost $20 and I change my oil every 5k. If I used the $10 stock style filter with every oil change and I use the $20 6637 filter every other oil change it all evens out money wise, but I have noticed much better performance with the 6637. Not to mention that really cool WOOSH lol.

i know this isnt alot of miles, but i have about 3000 miles on mine since i installed it. i checked it the other day, and it looks PERFECTLY new, with no signs of ANY dirt on it. you can see white looking inside the flange in the filter. not daylight, but when it is lined up with the sun, it is bright.

www.fleetfilter.com part number 46637. it is $18, but shipping kills you. (wow another $10). but if you place a big order, the shipping is less and less on each item. i have a order from them- should be here tomorrow, and there is a 46637 in it.
