THIS IS MY FIRST DIESEL. AND I HAVE A QUESTION? on my injection pump on the drivers side ther is an electric connection and i dont know what is for. there is allso alever that pushes on alever it is un hooked what is it for? and what is it?
IF its 89 or newer, the connection is probably the trans control (E40D trans). The lever explanation, i dont understand. If its older than 88, and the trans is a 3 speed auto, the lever stuff on the pass side of the pump is for kickdown linkage. More infor about the truck is helpful.
Drivers side electrical connections, front one is the fuel shut off solenoid, back one is the timing advance solenoid.
Levers on the drivers side are throttle front and timing advance rear straight up and down.
thanks thats what i thought. but wasnt sure all i know is that its unhooked looks like the set screw has been taken out. and it just turns freely on the throttle shaft. by the way im from salem wv. by any chancedave you go to doddridge?
