Iv'e got a 74 parts rig that will be going to the junk yard soon. It has two tanks nearly full of gas. Iv'e tried getting it out with a siphon pump that I have but no luck. Is there a screen or flap of some sort thats blocking it? With gas prices the way they are I dont want to send it all to the bone yard.
Also if they know they are full they will deduct some because of Flammable liquid. There should be a hose right by the cap so fuel can run off into the tank disconnect that. and try to siphon it with a piece of garden hose. Or poke a hole in the tank be carful make one spark and big Mistake that will be.
I just unhook the fuel line at the pump. It sits lower than the tank, already has siphon going for it.
Same idea should work for your tanks. If the line has lost it's siphon, put a LITTLE air pressure on the top of the fuel through the filler neck.
that's a great idea. I couldn't do that though cause my fuel line was plugged due to a rusted out tank and I had to get the fuel out to replace the tank.
If you have an electric inline fuel pump, wire that up and run the hose into a tank you will be using. Dropping a full tank isn't fun. I squished little me and luckily didn't spill.
