Hitch question

This is probably a dumb question, so bear with me. I have never attempted to install a reciever hitch before? Do these typically bolt to the frame, or do they need to be welded on?

Thanks!

Most modern hitches (last 10years +) bolt right on, unless you're talking gooseneck. Then there are two styles... the bolt on style, which requires drilling, and the weld on style, which the hitch itself bolts to the pieces that weld to the frame.

Why not both? Just for the extra "heavy duty-ness"

never a dumb question, for your truck, its more than likely a bolt on kind.
