Transmission problems 98 4.6L
I've been having problems with my '98 4.6L F150 A/T (70k miles). Between 30-45 mph the truck shifts real hard. The truck actually hesitates before shifting, reaches higher rpms, then slams into the next gear. The problem also seems to coincide with the OD light blinking. The OD works fine, the light just blinks after I experience the hard shift. The problem is worse if I use a heavy foot. If I accelerate real slow, and ease up on the gas when I anticipate the shift I can avoid the problem. However, I really have to "baby it." Does anyone have any suggestions?

Have you changed your fluid?
OD light blinking means you stored a code in the PCM. You can get it scanned to find out what is wrong...or at least where to start looking.
