to much advance

I am working on a 94 f350 460 and the base timing is at10 btdc w/o the spout, and with the spout pluged in it is about 30 btdc, and when rpms are increased it moves up to about 40, its aproximate because the amrks only go to 20. so is this normal, or what could cause the eec to give it so much timing.

It sounds about normal to me. Do you have a problem with it pinging?

no pinging, just trying to fix the rough idle.
