i am working on a 95 at work and need to pull the turbo. thankfully its not my truck. any way is it possible to get the turbo off by unbolting the turbo from the up-pipe adapter. its the y at the back that is bolted with 4 bolts maybe 2 are studs from what i can see. or do i have to remove the bolts from the up-pipes and remove the adapter and turbo as a unit. everything is very rust and i don't like broken bolts and those little guys look like they will break if i look at them wrong.
it's not a lot of fun, the collector bolts (upper two as I recall) gave me more problems than the lower nuts did.... I think the uppers are 13mm and the lowers are 15mm.
The 10mm bolts that hold the pedestal down are a real PITA.
If you need orings for the FPR or the turbo pedestal, or, you need allen bolts for the turbo housing... email me, milner351@comcast.net
thanks for the help guys i got it out this morning with your help. wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be but if i had done it like the book said it would have not been fun.
reason its out is cause the gasket at the inlet blew out. bolts were loose and one had been replaced (fell out). they complained that it wasn't running right. well when 30% or more of your drive power for the turbo is blowing around the engine compartment you won't have much power.
