Quick Fix for a sluggish 98 V8 Explorer
About 6 months ago I noticed that the performance of my 98 AWD V8 Explorer was pretty bad. It had gone from having monster pick up to oozing along. I brought it to a Ford dealer for a diagnostic. The told me there was nothing wrong with it, that all the numbers on their computer were within normal range. They didn't charge me a cent, but I still had a truck that was very sluggish. For the heck of it, I changed the fuel filter. I noticed when I removed the old filter that I had to blow pretty hard to get anything to come out the other side. In 30 minutes I had a new gas filter and my old beast was back. I hope someone finds this helpful.
