Any ideas on the approximate price of these radius rods?

Contact Landyot. My guess is $400.

Just a testimonial. My radius rods have now served me well for 100,000 miles. I installed them when truck only had 8,000 miles on it and now have 108,000. About 30,000 miles ago, I replaced all bushings and rectangular U-bolts.

I do have a set that will be getting sold as soon as the paint dries. I have offered them to another member already but if i don't hear from him in the next few days they will be up for grabs. I am going to be installing a 6" lift kit and these will not work with the lift. These are a set of the Gen -III ones which are from late 2000 to 2005 models. PM or email me if interested and we can figure something out.

I like my Gen IIIs but I don't know whether I will keep it or not. I suppose it depends on the truck. I changed the D fronts and G rears for U fronts and A rears. If it works well, I will sell it. If not, I will keep it. I'll know in the next week. If anyone is interested, let me know. I had them on for a year only.

I understand sewerats reason for parting with the radius rods but aklim are you saying that because of your spring swap they are no longer needed. I'm a day or two away from ordering v/b codes for my X and wondered if after the swap I might still need to get radius rods. Anyone care to share their experience regarding this?

Not yet. From what I heard, it makes the truck more stable. However, I'd have to see how much stability I have gained with the UA spring swap to make a decison

They locate the rear axle so that it will only move up and down (vertical plane). Currently with the soft spring used the axle can actually move on a horizontal plane as well as the normal vertical plane. It is the movement on the horizontal plane that causes a rear wheel steering effect commonly referred to as wandering. This is brought on by spring deflection over bumps or other road irregularities.

A stronger spring pack helps but his radius rods are second to none if you don't want to add leaves that can raise ride height. VERY high quality and a fine reputation!!

Not sure they'll work on your lifted truck though.

I eat hybrids. They will only work on trucks with a lift shorter then 4" anything taller and the angles all get goofy and you need to go to more of a ladder bar. Basicly that is all these are is a set of shortened ladder bars that are made specifically for the EX axles and springs to be a direct bolt-on (kinda).

Ya but if u think about it my truck is 2wd and 2wd drives are 2 inchs shorter then a 4x4. That means that when i put the 4 inch lift kit on im only 1 or 2 inchs taller then a 4x4. If you would have done the same thing to a 4x4 it would onlu have been 2 inchs of lift. Or do they make specific radious kits for 2wd trucks? If they did make a specific kit for 2wd trucks, then i could see where that 4 inchs of lift would mess it up, but if u could use a radious rod kit from a 4x4 truck then i don't see how my 4 inch lift would effect it? Can u even put radious rods on a 2wd truck?

Why can't the front of the factory traction bars be clamped to the leaf spring? Wouldn't that accomplish the same thing as the radius rods?

No. The radius rods secure the axle to the frame.

Doing as you suggested would mess up the entire suspension operation.

Mine secure the axel to the front of the spring pack.
