My truck has a vibration when braking. its a larger vibration at higher speeds.. I dont really feel it under 25.. What causes this? Is it because of the moisture? it just started raining here in cali and my brakes have been doing all kinds of wierd stuff. The rears LOVE to lock up for the first 5-10 minutes of driving. I would also like to fix that somehow as well.
Trucks a 90 f150 4x4 with a 5.0 discs up front drums in the rear.
vibration when braking is more than likely the front rotors are warped...
As for the back locking up the first 5 - 10 minutes???could be outof adj.
But it sounds like time for a complete brake job for the front and rear...
I concur. rear drums that are out of adjustment will put all the work on the front rotors...quickly warping. If you look at it quick, they may be able to be machined..otherwise new rotors and pads in the front. Have the rears cleaned and adjusted at least every 6 months. Worse case, about $250 parts/labor. Unless you have the special tool for removing the hubs, you'll have to take it some place.
