instrument panel lamps

I have only 1/2 of my panel that lights up....the left 1/2 is dark....I do not have owners manual so I do not know which bulbs to buy-wally is NO help,neither is pep boys ...they list about 6 different buls for the panel alone...any suggestions? I do not want to pull dash off and not have blubs(bulbs) on hand to replace...thanks in advance...this board is invaluble to those of us who do not or not any longer work in the automotive world.....mike

The cluster typically use #194 for backgroud lighting.
