Not sure which one you are talking about, but I got the ones from AMP. The instructions from AMP is decent. The door trigger wiring might be a little pain for some people. Within the same bundle of wire, there are 2 or 3 wires are colored the same as the door trigger switch wire. Make sure you test the wire by stripping back the insulator without cutting it off. When I did my wiring, I soldered all the door trigger wirings instead of using the butt connectors included in the kit.

Hopefully this would help.
what did you pay for the AMP brand of steps?
Are they made well?
any pics?
I am very interested in this, as well. The main question I have to ask is... When you open the door, How long does it take the step to extend. I don't want my girl to get clipped in the knee's the first time she "tests them out".
Also, is about $900 the best anyone has found on the AMP Research steps? I am looking for the best deal. 4-Wheel Parts can get them for $1080 ... Installed. I don't really want to spend the time to do this myself (don't have the time, really).
I installed the Kodiak steps on my old chevy. They were real straight forward. The wiring was easy and the directions were great. I did have to drill some holes in the frame to mount them though. As for the steps, The drivers was still operating great when I sold the truck after 3 years of use by me at 250lbs. The passenger one failed though after only 6 months under the massive weight of my 120lb wife. I took it apart and the gear that broke was cast aluminum. I've been told that they replaced those with steel though.
before i bought my amp steps i thought about the time it would take the steps to get to the down position but they go down very fast. faster then you can open the door and have one leg ready to exit (or enter) i love mine. people always ask me "how do you get into that monster" because they cannot see the steps then they are amazed at the steps , most people i have met have never seen them before
