A 2BBL is 320 HP and a 4 BBL is 360 HP
The Torque on the 4 BBL is quite high at 480 ftlbs at 2800rpm

Thunder Jet specs...
With the rather high compression of the '69 4bbl, if I were to use one of Compcams' xtreme 4x4 split duration cams, how high of octane will I need, or do I need to open the heads up more? I have a whole list of questions from people who have built one already, so soon as I get a grocery list together Ill let you know specifics....

had a 71 429 with 11/1 comp. if your not towing 10000 lbs premium is ok if towing heavy like me get less comp. if you want that motor to last. my new motor is 460 with 8.5/1 and pullsbetter than my 429 did because the power band is lower.
